Bad Breath Causes

If you have bad breath then things like meeting other people for the first time can be one of worst things you can do. If you are tired of dealing with bad breath you have to find out what's causing this annoying problem.

What Causes Bad Breath

There are many things that could be causing your bad breath problems. However, One of the most common causes is the type of food you eat. If you eat things like onions, garlic, and spices they can leave behind a strong odor in your mouth that can be hard to get rid of.

The reason the strong odors these foods leave behind are so difficult to get rid of is because they're often stored inside your lungs. If they remain in your lungs long enough the odor is then absorbed into your bloodstream and the smell is hard to get rid of at that point.

This is why it's important to watch they kinds of foods you eat on a daily basis. The types of foods you eat can make your breath worse or help it smell fresher.

Another common cause of bad breath is poor dental hygiene practices. Poor dental hygiene can make your breath smell funky because things like leftover food particles, bacteria, and mucus will build up in your mouth.

Things like brushing your teeth, flossing, and scraping your tongue regularly can go a long way when it comes to eliminating bad breath. To learn more about proper dental practices to help get rid of bad breath visit this website.

An underlying condition could be causing your bad breath. Things like xerostomia (dry mouth), periodontal disease, and liver disease can all play a part in the cause of your bad breath problems. In order to get rid of bad breath permanently you're going to have to get rid of the underlying condition first.

The best thing you can do is go to your doctor and have him run a diagnostic to check if you're in fact suffering from another condition that could be causing bad breath as a symptom. If you are then your doctor will be able to treat the condition and hopefully your bad breath will be no more.

Sometimes something as simple as a dental add on could be causing your bad breath. If this is the case visit your dentist and get him to fix your dental add on so that your bad breath stops.

Bad Breath Treatments

Now that you have an idea of various causes of bad breath you can then begin trying to treat this problem for good. One of the best ways to treat bad breath effectively is to drink more water.

Drinking a lot of water helps because it increases the saliva production in your mouth. An increase in saliva production inside your mouth helps flush out the odor causing bacteria and leave your mouth smelling fresher.

Another way to cure bad breath is to start eating foods that don't feed the odor causing bacteria. Things like onions and garlic should be avoided at all costs. Instead you should focus on eating more foods like apples which actually contribute to a healthier smelling mouth.
